The local language and the accent of the community where you choose to learn Spanish is very significant as you want to understand most, if not all, of what is said around you. No one after all would be comfortable in a situation where he or she is not able to understand what is going on around them when out of class especially as sometimes there may be warnings, and failure to recognize them may be catastrophic.
