Medicare part D can be regarded as a rare government program that has somehow come in under budget. According to figures released by Congressional Budget Office (CBO), the total cost of part D is approximated to be $329 billion less in comparison to the initial 10- year projections. Further, CBO reduced the cost of 10-year projections for part D by $56 billion in 2014.
